Staining my drums?

RILY!

New member
One morning i got this crazy idea to take the wrap off my shells and stain the wood underneath,
ive been pondering this idea for a couple weeks now
so yesterday i finally got the nerve to take off the wrap on one of my toms
it was pretty simple; not much glue it just needs sanding in a few spots
i think im gonna go for a darker walnut color stain im hoping for a nice vintage look
the kit is a cheap Coda five piece that a friend gave me so i literally have nothing to loose

am i crazy or does anyone think itll look good?
opinions? anyone?

it'll prolly look like a coffee table, but go for it. it will be unique and u can tell ppl it's an expensive custom kit!

That's exactly what I'm doing! I have a cheap CB 5-Piece. You stole the idea from me! J/K I'm pretty sure it will look killer. Please post some pics when you have it all done! I wanna see!

not to be a joykill or anything... but those shells aren't really made for staining.

there is a reason none of those super low-end kits come in any wood-stained / dyed finish.
