Recording

Has anyone tried any of the Digidesign Mbox recording bundles? I'm looking at the Mbox 2 Mini Recording Bundle (mainly because of the price). Are these bundles ever worth the money? I'm new to recording. All I've ever used is a Line 6 GuitarPort (hooked up a microphone to it for drum tracks) and recorded into FruityLoops, but that software isn't working on my computer anymore (torrent file). I've downloaded some other software, but a lot of it is hard to use, and probably wouldn't be worth the effort for the quality I get using an old, crappy mic run through the GuitarPort, so I'd like to get something that I can start doing some real recording with.

Thanks.

Digidesign is for people with unlimited amount of money to spend.
You're better off with SONAR or Cubase.
I use SONAR Producer edition and it's awesome.
Check out the Presonus Firestudio... or something comparable.
With the Digidesign you're stuck on the name PROTOOLS.
It's like DW vs Yamaha.
Yamahas are awesome drums.
People think they have to buy DW because they see so many endorsers and they cost a lot more.

I have 3 of these so I record 24 tracks at a time

I have a torrent file of Sonar 6 too, but I can't figure out how to use it (I guess that's what I get for illegally downloading). Do I need any hardware to go along with the Sonar software, or can I just use it with my GuitarPort? Are there any sites I can go to for free online tutorials?

You can use any software without any interface but only one track.

Check out Scott Garrigus site...Google it.
Or get one of his books.

Any suggestions on an interface if I wanted to get one to work with Sonar 6, now that I'm not spending the money on the bundle?
