Anyone here play them or heard of them?

im interested in thier onyx noir kit which is maple/mahogany with a laquer finish for about $650 (£331!) and it sounds far to good to be true for thier intermediate kits to be that cheap, somehing has got to suffer in that deal, ive checked out the hardware but it doesnt seem that bad and itd be the shells im after really so if it is that price im definatly interested

found no uk seller though :(

oh my god! i have been waiting for this thread for a while!

i have a peace paragon maple set and it is awesome! i have a,

24x18 kick
13x9 rack
16x16 floor tom
18x16 floor tom.

i was really unsure when i bought them as i had never really heard of them before but i have never been disapointed with them. they are all maple shells and really well made at a real good price too.

birmingham drum centre stocks them and you can get any size/configuration you want! mine cost me £850!

peace drums deserve more respect than they get, real good drums at an affordable price.

i can get you some photos up if you want?

cheers,

dammow.

sorry about the title spelling its a bit late over here and ive had a bit to drink haha
lol, me too!

i forgot to mention that i got hardware in that price which is,

2x boom stand
1x hi hat
1x snare stand
and 1 holder for the rack tom.

very sturdy but not my kind of thing for the cymbal stands as i don like hollow boom stands!(i prefer the stands that have a hidden boom).

The top line Peace kits look nice. I havent viewed one up close, but the pics, the materials of the drums, the looks.... rank right up there with any of the other popular semi pro kits available.

that looks f*ing awsome,

i got paid yesterday so my budget has shot up immensly but i dont want to buy a kit thats above what i need needlesly,

the onyx noir would be about £331 which if a frightening price if you think about what might sufer for it to be that cheap but if its incredible and it is that price that means new paiste rudes for me aswell hehe. i know the shells would be solid but whats the hardware like on the onyx and also does your hi hat stand base move?

i dont know what the h/ware is like on the onyx but i got got some pretty heavy duty stuff with my set. i got ;

2x boom stands =very sturdy but with hollow boom arms. (i dont like hollow booms)

1x snare stand =very sturdy but with toothed tilter. (i dont like toothed tilters)

1x 2 legged hi-hat stand =has a nice feel but does seem to rock about abit but it is the first two legged dtand ive used so i dont really know if they all do that.

All the stands are very sturdy (except hat) but i dont use them anymore as i got DW and Tama. i also like my old pearl snare stand as it doesnt have a toothed tilter and i really love my old pearl hi hat stand. (dont know why as its single braced, going rusty etc but i just love the feel of it!)

Also, i got a PEACE NITRO DRIVE single bass pedal and that in itself is awesome, looks a bit like a iron cobra bit about a 1/3 of the price!

hope this helps!?

ive given up on trying to get the onyx, i like the sound of the paragon but its to expensive for me at the moment. they really sound like they are awsome drums but i just cant get hold of anything but the paragon from birmingham which is the wrong thing for me.

i've never had a problem with 2 leg hi-hat stands.... own a dw 9000 now... had a 5000 as well as an iron cobra... strange.

with the exception of the high end kits, the all look pretty cheap to me. not trying to be a joykill or anything...

i think it's the tom arms mounting in the bass drum that's not doing it for me. never was a huge fan of pearl through the shell tom mounts...

i've also used those onyx noir lugs on a few snares i've built and they were terrible...

i agree with you on the cheap end kits, they do look 'cheap'. the high end paragon though are very good. and CHEAP for very good.

as for the high hat stand, its the only one ive ever used so i cant really compare it to anything else 2 legged.
