Nice. Get that from Mike?
Yeah, that was Mike's lesson from Wednesday. In one month, I'm already twice the drummer because of his lessons. I'm pretty stoked about my playing right now. Thanks so much for suggesting his lessons man, they're awesome. Now I gotta work on moving that beat around the kit, and spicing it up a bit. I'm also working on playing 32nd note double strokes between the floor tom and bass drum.

Sweet. I'm proud to say that I'm the one who showed him that. You're playing one of my beats. :D

Well, I learned it from a cat from Southern Brazil and then added the left foot clave on my own. I showed Mike what I was doing one day, he traded me an Art Blakey lesson, and then he ran for the endzone with it. And, I haven't practiced it in so long that you play it better than me, now.

I don't really know when I'll ever use the latin beats, I'd love to play in a latin jazz band, but in KC I've never heard of one. But even if I never use it at a gig, I love the 4 way independence practice, and just doing something besides ye olde 2 4 is fun.

I love Art Blakey, I want an Art Blakey lesson, lol.

For some reason I feel like the three of us got some kind of a Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi connection going on. lol
