I know this has been repeated many many times.

well ok

how big of a kit do you want?

you play metal so i'm assuming something like
8" 10" 12" 14" 16" toms
or 10" 12" 13" 16" 18" or something like that

one or two bass drums?
what size basses?

do you want a matching snare?

what finish are you looking for
laquer..satin?
a wrap?
glitter, sparkle, a fade, all one color?

what kind of hoops,
2.3 triple flange or die cast?
or wood hoops!?

all kinds of stuff dude

-- Single bass drum, 22 inch
-- Satin finish
-- Fade
-- As for hoops, i havnt had much experience.

And trust me, 3k is around 6000 - 7000 Riyals (saudi currency) so it was unbeliebly hard, my parents would no way help me out with it.
But it feels good in the end knowing that you did it, and did it alone.

How's this look to you?

<a href="http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b2/kurtcobean/?action=view&current=KickassPDP.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2/kurtcobean/KickassPDP.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

It comes in other colors (including Satins and Fades). The shells alone would probably run you $1000 give or take. Idk how much difference the price would be considering you live outside of the US.

Do you have some place to try some kits out? Start with how it sounds to you, then look at the hardware. Does it look durable? Easy to adjust? Function over form brotha! Make sure it Sounds like you want and the hardware works like you want before you even think about the color. I would rather have a kit that sound great but looks like ass than the other. But that's just me :)

Trying out kits is impossible for me.
We dont have much drum shops where i live.
So this is my best option.

Then I would suggest doing your research. If you find a kit you are interested in search for reviews on it. Not just the ones form the site selling it. Don't just go by someone saying to buy a kit because it looks cool. See if to can hear from some one who owns it. Good luck on the seach! :D

That PDP kit is an MX, because of the satin (matte) finish. It's also out of production. :)

Possibly PDP Platinum, because they're basically what DW was eight years ago. Or even Medicine Man Custom Drums. But you can also get nice kit from almost all of the manufacturers for that price range. What do you want out of your kit?

Oh ok.
Well to begin with i was thinking about a 6 or 7 piece set, one bass drum.
8'' 10'' 12'' 14'' 16'' toms.
22'' bass drum.

Colour is the least of my concerns, but ill check out anything from Sunburst, to dull black finish.

And if by hardware u mean hoops, Die Cast hoops.

budget is around 3k.

I play metal, and Rock.

That's about it?

what cymbals do you have? if you are prepared to lay down that much money on a kit i would make sure you had kick arse cymbals. would you want a snare to come in the same colour as the kit? if you dont care i would get a custom snare. Before you ask what kit you should make sure a new kit is actually your priority then work from there.
