How do you say Tama?

i say tom-ah

and i always thought paiste was said like paste-ey...but i saw an interview with joey jordison and he kept sayin pie-ste

It's "tah-mah"...neither syllable gets an accent. That's the way the Japanese language works. Like Hoshino, the company that owns Tama, would be "hoh-she-noh". Check out a pronunciation guide on Google, it's pretty cool.

Unfortunately, I don't speak Japanese but I did start learning once.

I say Paiste like how you'd say Feisty. Or something along those lines.
I say Tama Tam-ah. That's how all my japanese drummer friends say it, so I'll take it from them.
And I say Remo... Uh. Reemo. XD

I pronounced it Tah-mah since the first time I know that brand! Well, I learn a few japanese words and so that might help. For paiste, I say it pay-stee or something like that... hahaha.. Remo, i say it Remmo

Tom-uh here. And I have always pronunced Paiste like paste... the kind kids eat. Heres one, how about meinl? I say mine-ell.

That's not how the suits at Hoshino pronounce it. They say "tah-mah".

The Remo rep always said "ree-mo" when I talked to him.
