My old band's bass player came up with the best expression for sludgy rock songs that have a very low tuned cowbell
He calls them "big dumb cowbell" songs
It does invoke a 3 stooges-like head bonk image
Maybe I will get someone to invent a huge incredibly low tuned cowbell and call it the RockulaBigDumbCowbell

The most versatile part of my kit... it can make the crowd stomp their feet and call the kids home for supper time!

I would think that blast beats with a cowbell would be cool
including cowbells hooked up to your pedals. double kickin cowbells would rock my nuts right off.

I keep trying to get my bandmates to let me do a five-minute, improvised cowbell solo in the middle of one of our songs. For some reason they don't seem to go for it very much...
