depends on what I'm doing; I've got some of each to pick from.

If I had to make an ultimate choice, I'd like smaller hats and bigger crashes for what I usually do.

I prefer to use the cymbals that work best for a situation regardless of the size.
Bingo.

I use a mixture, 13" hats, 16", 18", and 19" crashes, and a 21" ride. It's nice having actual options. :)

Speaking of that 19" crash Scott...That has to be one of ( if not ) the best sounding crash cymbal I've ever heard..!!

I feel that 14" Hi Hats and 20"-21" Ride can pull you through just about anything..!!

26" Zildjian crash/ride -- the most amazing cymbal I've ever heard. I got it for $99 somewhere around 1978. You can still see where it had $99 scrawled on it with a Sharpie. It was tossed against the back wall of the drum department at EU Wurlitzer in Boston. I said, "Must have!" I've used it in rooms the size of my closet and in front of over 40,000 people. Perfect.

Ufip Bionic Crashes - 14, 18 & 20"
Ufip 22" china w/ rivets

My music teacher from High School told me about Ufips. This guy played with Sinatra, so when he said "They're better than Zildjians." I said, "Had this come from anybody else, I would have laughted in their face. Since it came from you, I'm going to check it out."

I checked them out. SOLD!

Amazingy musical cymbals. Words can't do them justice, you just have to hear them in person. You'll see...

Peace and respect to all. Happy Thanksgiving.

best,

well i like a using small to medium cymbols

i have 14" 15" 16" crashes
2X 8" splashes
2X 20" rides
14" hats
12" china

so yeah i like small to medium cymbols... not to big on the big cymbols which to me just take up more room than they are worth, i like having small cymbols which are loud but only ring for a little bit of time, a real impact when u hit tem instead of hitting them then a few seconds later still be able to hear it...

but thats just me
