my favorite cymbal i own is a sabian 10" max stax, which is mike portnoys signature line. it is really crisp sounding its a 10" Max Stax China Kang and 10" Max Stax Splash. it adds a little interesting feel to my playing, i am in a metal band and so its cool to have some effects cymbals another one i love is a 9.5" zil-bel

I'm mostly a Paiste user, but my favorite ride cymbal is a 24" Zildjian Platinum Medium Ride.

16" Sabian El Sabor - older one that is not brilliant.
It is actually billed as a cymbal that can be used in a percussion set-up and played with your hands. The edge is slightly turned up....best sounding cymbal I've heard!

Great topic. I love trying to find new cymbals with different characteristics. My favorite and actually is my most personal cymbal is my Paiste 2002 medium 20". It can be used either as a ride or a crash. I love it. It was given to me by years ago even before I played drums by a dear friend that died of cancer at a young age. I always try to find cymbals that have huge characteristics but are not over blown like this one cymbal. Oh and one more thing your right about the 20" Z ping ride. that is one amazing cymbal as well.

I still have an 18" Zildjian China Boy that I bought in 1989. It's been a regular part of my kit ever since & it still sounds great!
