Right now I have a DW 7000, which is working fine for me but I'm looking at the 5000 series. The reason being I've heard they're better in that they're smoother and have more adjustments. My 7000 is quick but it's not as smooth as I'd like it to be. My question is what is the difference between the Turbo and Accelerator models? They're both the same price on musiciansfriend but the Turbo has a higher customer rating. I've fiddled with them at Guitar Center but never played them behind a kit. Can anyone share their experience with them?

I used to have a DW 5000 strap pedal and I must say it was as smooth as silk. Someone else must've thought so because it got stolen.

i have tried them at guitar center that arnt bad at all but the only thing is they are heavey pedals and if i am going to have a heavey pedal then it has to get alot of rebound , and i think thats what the dw 5000 lacked. but it was also on an eletric drumset so mybe that is why it didnt rebound as much

Very nice pedals, my mate went from 7000s to 5000s and I played both quite a few times and I must say the 5000s blow the sh!t outta the 7000s.

Which one to get?

Completely up to you and how you play, if you want an aggresive pedal go for the accelerator as it has an offset cam the turbo has an on set cam so its like a smoother feel I guess.

What's the difference between the 5000, 9000, and 7000 series? Since the 7000 series is a higher number I always thought that it was a better pedal than the 5000 series, but noone seems to play 7000s. What's the deal?

4000, 7000, 5000, 9000

Thats the "order" though some people dont like the feel of the 9000 and stick with the 5000 as both are professional range and it just depends on what kinda feel you want from it

Heard through the grapevine that the 5000's will be discontinued soon. got a 5000 delta double had it for about 8 years.. and the pedal must be at least 12-15 years old. still solid. and any other pedal i play feels like a brick.

Surely not?

They're what made DW!

Would be such a shame if they did, like if Zildjian discontinued Avedis Series!

i have the 7000 and its works out fine for my type of playing. i will get the 5000 in a couple years as soon as the 7000 wears down in like 3 years or more

i bought the 5000 a few months ago and i hafta say that it really is the most comfortable pedal i have ever played. i personally think that it blows tama out of the water and that it really is a better quality pedal than the 7000 and 9000

I like the 5000 accelorator double, tried it out a few weeks ago. It was smooth, fast and I could play it using the techniques I use (swivel, heel-toe, etc) without any problems. I like it so much Im selling my pearl eliminators to get the 5000.

£170 if anyones interested :D

I play the 9000 series and its hands down the best pedal I have ever used. Although when I first started playing them it took me about a week to get used to but thats because you get used to your old pedals, But i dont see myself playing anything else for a long time.
