Mike Mangini is definatly one of the best drummers i've seen, he's currently my favorite. I also like Nicko McBrain and Martin Lopez, both have had a huge influence on my drumming style.

Steve Smith? Who does he drum for? Thats also the same name as nevemore's second guitarist. But I agree with you on Martin Lopez.

Keith Carlock has got to be one of the best in my book.

Rodney Holmes shows the most promise.

Dennis Chambers is a monster and a time machine.

Wow I could do this for hours-

As for bands and drummers I would have to say-

Stephen Perkins for creatvity.

Chris Dangorus from The Hives for technique and tempo without sounding like some cheap punk drummer.

Awww I could do this forever but they are my current faves.

Either George Kollias or Tomas Haake. Chris Pennie also impresses me. Linear playing is the shiznit.
Its not even that hard to play, its just hard to count! Fuck it!

Nigel Olsson, hands down. Noone else has that sound, that style, and those signature fills. (He's in the March '07 issue of Modern Drummer! Check it out! Should've been on the cover if you ask me, but I'm biased of course. Ok, sorry... had to mention that.) :D Nigel Rocks!

Tommy Lee !!!

Vik Foxx

both these guys are hard hitters and really put the beat right in the pocket. I also like morgan rose, he's more technical .

hmm well. as far as a band goes and that i listen to the most would be Chris Adler of Lamb Of God. talent right there. but for solo stuff its a tie between Dave Weckl, Vinnie Caluita, and Steve Gadd. i especialy like watching their Buddy Rich Tribute concert where they do a 3 way battle/solo
