OK, I'll try another upload of my current kit (bird's view):
Still a crappy angle, but we have a small rehersal-room, and the drums is (of course...) stuffed in one corner. We're starting recording of our 3rd CD one of these days, and I'll come back with some better pictures then!

My Yamaha Recording Series 9000 kit contains the following parts:

14" x 8" snare
10" x 10" tom
12" x 10" tom
14" x 12" tom
16" x 16" tom
18" x 16" tom
22" x 16" BD
22" x 16" BD

(Second snare is a Pearl free floating 14" x 5")

Cymbals are mainly Zildjian's ("A"s, "K"s, one "Oriental" and one "FXT", but also a couple of Istanbul's:

Zildjian - 14” "A" New Beat Hi-Hat
Zildjian - 14” “K” Dark Crash - Thin
Zildjian - 16” “K” Dark Crash - Thin
Zildjian - 18” ”A” Crash
Zildjian - 12” “ZXT series” Total China
Zildjian - 16” "Oriental" China Crash
Zildjian - 20” “A” China Boy – High
Zildjian - 22” “A” China Boy – Low
Zildjian - 20” Rock Ride
Zildjian - 20” Earth Ride
Istanbul Mehmet, Handmade - 9” Splash
Istanbul Mehmet, Handmade - 10” TÃ¥rk Bell
Istanbul Mehmet, Handmade - 18” “Sultan series” Crash
Istanbul Mehmet, Handmade - 12” Hi-Hat, Ergun GÃ¥rkey Signature

I'm glad I bought most of this stuff, prior to becoming cohabitant with my lady. I doubt very strongly, that I'd be allwed to use such an amount of money on drums these days...

great kit!

I know it's 'subjective,' but I'd love to hear about those Istanbuls.
I've tried/still have a few models, but I've never come across the bell or splash and am very curious about them.
Any descriptions you could share? Or audio samples?
thanks!

I'm digging the top-down view of the kit! That's awesome!

Why, thanks everybody! :D

The finish is "Piano Black".

Splash and/or Bell cymbals from Istanbul is bought in...
Istanbul, actually!

I think they're possible to achieve elsewere, but of course;
Istanbul itself is the place to go to buy Istanbul's.
I have never in my life seen such a large collection of Cymbals!
Mainly Istanbul's, but also Bosphorous cymbals.

They have quite a few shops there, but the best bargain is of course down in the old bazaar.

Sound Samples?:

I'm not sure were you can find that on the internet, but try out
http://www.istanbulcymbals.com

I haven't actually checked it out myself, but I think you can get hold of some samples if you register (I haven't done that).

Anyway, the 9" Splash sounds great!
The splash itself is rather thin, but it has a rich, defined, warm, dark sound. One of the best splash-cymbals I have ever heard, actually.

The 10" TÃ¥rk Bell is obviously a more special cymbal, that has a gongish sound. Very oriental sound indeed.
(I have 4 China's along side the TÃ¥rk Bell, and it blends in really well with those, especially the 12" FXT China, witch actually has a quite similar sound.

I would love to be more helpful, both in verbal description as well as providing sound samples, but this is the best I can do right now.[/u]

Thanks, I thought it looked quite odd while uploading it, but it is indeed an alternative angle that looks quite neat! :D
