Cool, thanks for the suggestion Geddy. I don't listen to Jeff Beck that much and I don't think I've heard that track before, but I'll have to check it out.

Another great snare sound I thought of last night...I don't know if there are any metal heads out there that know if this band called Dream Evil. They're pretty corny and kind of a joke power metal band, with songs like "Book of Heavy Metal" and "Heavy Metal Jesus" The singing and lyrics are just ridiculous, but nevertheless the drums are pretty legit...and the snare sound is incredible. I have no idea who the drummer is but he is pretty sick, and I appreciate the fact that he plays a pretty small kit with single kick and a few toms and cymbals, going against the usual stereotypical power metal set up of playing a huge kit.

also any of bill burfford stuff has a killer sounding snare, but somewhat on the timbale sounding side , then of a crack, but nonetheless it has a nice pop.
