What's the best drumset you've ever played?

Pearl, Tama, Yamaha, DW, Ludwig, Premier, Mapex etc.

any kit with 2 kick drums, and more than 4 toms.... off course it would have to be either a Tama Starclassic, a Custom Mapex ( Probaly a V or M Pro or Orion ), Pearl Master or the Electric Roland kits.

the best sounding kits ive played are

- pearl reference
- tama starclassic performer
- yamaha birch custom absolute
- gretsch catalina birch
- my drum instructors pork pies
- any new dws.

in that order.

as you may be able to tell, i really am not a fan of maple sets. to me they just dont have that great a sound. i love the deep tone of birch and would take it over any set, any day. last time i went to guitar center they had a tama starclassic bubinga set but it wasnt set up so i couldnt play it. i want to try one of those with a serious passion.

My DW's :D

Also like:

Pearl Masters
Tama Starclassics
Yamaha Maple Custom

Pretty much anything top of the line is gonna sound awesome. DW's are the best though.

DW Maple or Pork Pie Maple probably.

After these, the Pearl BRX then the Yammy 9000RC.

The best one to to me was, when it was still offered, the PREMiER Genista series. They had such a great tone in the toms it was unbelieveable. And the finishes were just beautiful!
