A drummer that is famous just for being being in a band that had a hit and is cocky about it.................but cant play nearly as good as they think they can?

the dude from avenged 7fold yes,

Tommy Lee in a way, cocky and not as good as he is made out to be, but a fine producer and studio guru, I still like him.

Greg Upchurch

Any one of those friggin' tatooed-eyeliner wearing-emo-"i love you" pop band wannabee durmmers with those dumb-ass 22x26 kick drums and 12 foot tall Travis Barker Hats and cymbals that are for looks and not a good sound only because they want to make money and not the music they want to, I know of few of these people personnaly, they have alot to learn about MUSIC, not just drumming.

NOW LETS TURN THIS AROUND!

UNSUNG HEROES WHO ARE HUMBLE,PRFESSIONAL, and amazing all in the same body who we rarely hear about or speak of.

Steve Jordan - the best
BENNY GREB - check him out on youtube.com........holy toledo.......

The ones who let the spot light get to their head. I lose all respect for drummers or anyone else for that matter that get such a big head that it overshadows their playing.
I'm in a metal band out of Oklahoma, stop by if your interrested in checking it out..

I've always dissliked Charlie Watts and that guy from AC/DC who plays the same freakin beats 24/7

I see what your saying. It's not that I dislike the songs or anything, but they seriously do need to switch it up.

well for you saying that, i honestly think you suck as a drummer yourself, for your arrogant comments and for your words towards him, so he has more money then you ever will, and more fans than you ever will, so that makes him suck?.... i think someone's jealous? :P

I think some people hyperfocus on a handful of drummers to the exclusion of many other great players, and that's irritating, but I would never beat up on a drummer who makes a lot more money than me doing what I'd like to do.

I learned my lesson a long time ago. I disparaged a drummer who seemed to be riding the coattails of his bandmates, and a guitarist friend of mine said, "Oh? How many hit records have you played on?"

Ouch.

50 drummers I know, living around me here in my hometwon

We rarely speak about Terry Bozzio, don't blame his huge set, he was the former Zappa drummer, that means very much (to me).

Zappa was a perfectionistic ashole.

if theres anything considering the musician arguement i hate the most is when people bring money and fans into it. what has money got to do with his playing ability lets not confuse the debate were talking about talent and musicianship and yes he is an asshole and yes hes a pretty good drummer from what ive heard on the recordings (although he probs had digital help like most bands these days). the dude is nothing special he is one of those many drummers who is overrated when the real talent out there is being completely ignored. i could reel off names all day about the drummers that should be really getting the attention for their talents. the overrated drummers are all around us and its sad but shit thats how it goes isnt it? personally at the moment im really diggin jo jo mayer and benny grebbs work, along with thomas lang and so on. now theres a good discussion topic.... what drummers out there do you think are not getting the attention they deserve?

I don't recall Jo Jo seeking out the Avenge 7fold gig.

The Suck Test.
Fill in the blank with the drummer you think sucks.

We all know who ________ is.

If ________ sucks, then that must mean you can do better.

Because if you say ________ sucks and you aren't better, that means you suck more than ________ does.

Therefore, you must be better than ________ in order to not suck.

So if you are better than ________, why the hell have I never heard of you?

If you say that any prominent and successful drummer sucks, then what kind of drummer does that make you?
You may dislike some performers, but that doesn't mean they “suck”.
I hate the mentality people have that you must be the best, or the fastest, or the most technical.
Playing in any way is better than not playing at all.

Well, the drummer for Slipknot is horrible and the drummer for Mushroomhead.. omg.. for them its just how fast they play.. nothing special how fast someone plays.. well sort of.. but mostly about the technique and the rhythm.. Drummers like Chad Smith, Mike Portony, Nathaniel Townsley are the ones i truely like.. not that shitty performance Slipknot drummers do..

thats my opinion haha
