As far as Drummers ive seen play live,id have to say Neil Peart was the best ive seen in concert, and ive seen him with Rush 3 times. But as far as clinics, ive been to a few and the guy who stands out in my mind is Billy Cobham,he was amazing! Another great live performance i saw was when i was a young aspiring drummer, was Alex Van Halen in concert back in the late 80's. He was really good! I saw Jason Bonham play few years back with his band performing Zeppelin songs live in tribute to his father, man that was awesome! I was at the front of the stage for that one! I also enjoyed seeing Bun E. Carlos live twice. Other good drummers i had the chance to see live were Eric Carr(RIP), Gregg Bissonette,Lars Ulrich,Tommy Lee, & Scott Rockenfield. Those are the ones that stand out in my mind, and were very good rock drummers ive seen in concert.

Now,there are many i wish i could've seen, some that are no longer here like John Bonham,Buddy Rich, and Gene Krupa, to some that i still hope to see live some day some way some how... like Ronnie Tutt,Ginger Baker,Louie Bellson,D.J. Fontana,Joe Morello, and the list grows and grows...

Tie between Danny Carrey (AEinima tour)and Dale Crover(MElvins).
Runners up would have to be Jon Stanier (with Tomahawk) and the drummers/percussionists with the Chicago Symphany Orchestra.

Amen to that, a man after my own heart, I adore. A man after my own tart? Now that's quite the opposite

Buddy Rich-Sheffield City Hall 1986.He was 69 (or maybe older?) at the time.It was the year before he passed away.Unbelievable.Without doubt,to this day-unequalled.

Honourable mentions in no order of merit:
Danny Carey
Thomas Lang
Virgil Donati
Dom Famularo
Terry Bozzio

For me it's a toss-up. I've seen Joey Kramer, Steve Jordan, Simon Kirk, Tommy Lee, just to name a few.

I love A7X and I love the Rev. He is my biggest influences in drumming as of right now. As for the best drummer I have seen live, or seen anywhere for that matter, must be the god himself- T-t-t-Thomas Lang! I saw him at the MD festival 06 in New Jersey. Everyone who can should go to 07.

Gary Husband was another guy that made my head spin when I saw him. Just huge "wow" factor at the elegance of playing and the mastery of technique.
