I saw him at a small club in Dallas before their record really started to get recognition. He is totally amazing. He's got finesse like no other. It was funny to watch him set up because the sound engineer ran out of mikes for all the pieces to his kit...he kinda got pissed, but said "f*ck it," and played minus 2 or 3 toms. They hadn't yet released "El Cielo" at the time, but the set consisted of many of those songs. I stood right next to the stage (with plenty of room because no one had heard of them here yet, save a few loyal peeps) and watched the bassist trigger a bunch of sounds barefoot with is big toe on his sequencer. That was such an awesome show. I'm not that old, but I'm beginning to feel senile.
