i'm rocking a 21" traditional finish A sweet ride right now, and it's been great. i don't use many cymbals, so i need all of them to pull double duty and be something they aren't sometimes, and this one has worked well so far. it crashes well, has good definition when riding, and the bell cuts nicely. i had a 20" HHX evolution ride before that which definitely worked at the time when i was mainly just crashing on my ride. i needed something with a little more versatility, and the sweet ride was the one i landed on.

i do like the new 24"paiste giant beat as well. but unfortunately i have rent to pay, and that kind of prevents me from buying all the drum gear i want...
drums: custom acrylic
16 x 24 bass
16 x 18 floor
5.5 x 13 snare
5.5 x 10 tama steel snare (left side)

cymbals:
13" hats
21" ride/ crash
20" china
6" zilbel

cowbell, jam block, ribbon crasher

My faves are either a 70's (I think) UFIP 22" bounce ride, or my 22" Spizz. Oddly enough I use the two interchangeably depending on my mood. They are , of course, radically different sounding plates, but both are better than anything else I've ever heard IMHO.

Oh yah man! He used pretty much all Reflector series Sig cymbals except for one RUDE he had placed right in the front and center of his set for this past tour and album. You can see him talking about it on the bonus dvd.... the RUDE is his favorite. :P But everything else was Sig Reflectors. I have been day-dreaming practically all day, and I am HIGHLY considering trying to get a pair of 14" Sig Ref Sound Edge hi-hats, a 22" Sig Ref Power Ride, an 18" and 20" Sig Ref Power Crash, Sig 8" Bell, 18" and 20" Sig Ref Heavy Chinas, a 22" Sig Heavy China, a 16" and 18" RUDE Crash Ride, and I think that is it.... unless I get some splashes.. I already have a good enough crash. :P Sabian 16" Vault. That won't be getting replaced any time soon, that is special. :P So what do you think? Awesome as all hell set I am detailing? lol!!!

For moderate to loud playing, I use a 1970's 22" A medium-heavy; or my Sweet Ride that is cracked around part of the bell which, thanks to the crack, gives me a nice variety of tonal areas that A's tend to lack.

For moderate to soft playing, I use one or a combination of- 22" Dream Bliss, 18" Dream Bliss or 18.25" LP Rancan china crash with 2 rivets.

Currently using a 20" Paiste Signature Dark Dry Ride (discontinued) and loving it!

Also have a 21" Sabian Raw Bell Dry Ride that I love as well.

Also check out the 2002 and 3003 series that he used back in the 80's-90's. The 3003 ride that he used sounded awesome though it is discontinued. Get you hands on one of those you best keep it. The 2002's are still in production and give you a great sound at a bit cheaper price than the Sigs. Check them out. Peace!
