I usually play in my Chuck Taylors, but wrestling shoes are great too, i have a pair lying around (somewhere) from when i was in my HS wrestling team. But i can play in almost anything, even my doc martins. I really want to try playing in bowling shoes, i had some on the other night when i went bowling, and never noticed how flexible and thin they are.

Whatever is on my foot as I sit down to play.
Barefoot, sneakers, boots, whatever!
(I guess it mainly comes down to lazyness... )

I got a CHEAP pair of trainers from asda (wall mart) and they are grimy battered and discusting but there is nothing NOTHING more comfortable to play in, and there as small as i can ware them, normally need a ten but got a nine in these and it feels like im part of the kit, I find its better then playing bare foot as my feet get sore when they are just in socks and i cant play with as much attitude like that either, but CHEAP OLD SHOES are the was... each to there own!

I use either a "racing/driving" shoe or a nice Capezio dance shoe.

Just like the race car drivers, we need to feel our pedals.
I endorse Vater drumsticks, Bosphorus Cymbals, and Your Mom. Really like using and beating on your Mom.

I got given a free pair of Vans trainers - kind of like the old basketball boots I used to wear but can no longer afford! So I use them. I like the high ankle supports. Played for yesr in bare feet but one too many barroom floors with glass all over them put me off that eventually (not to mention complaints by my wife about crashing into bed with black soles of my feet....even after scrubbing them... :(

i either play barefoot or with my adio skate shoes...its pretty much the same playing in either. id try chucks but my feet are 4e wide and chucks are just a little tight....as in i cant feel my toes tight.

I saw someone mention that they wear wrestling shoes -- I think I read somewhere that Portnoy does the same thing!

Usually I just wear sneakers when I play. However, during the summer a lot of times I'll practice & occasionally gig barefoot, just because it's so hot!
