i'm using a 7x13 in the studio. i'm really starting to dig the body that the deeper snares provide.

I use a Spaun 6x14 16-ply Maple with Puresound wires and Nickleworks throwoff. I just bought it last month when we were on tour, so I dont have a pic of it yet but I'll try to get one.

I play a really old Ludwig Collosiam mapel snare - 14x8 - it has served me for over 20 years, and every time I play it, it just knocks me sideways - as loud as I have ever needed it to be, but sounds great at all volumes - I play in a band with 3 drummers, we actually outnumber guitars which is special, I use mine, 1 guy uses a piccalo, and one uses a standard metal - and the 3 drums together produce 1 hell of a sound - NICE

i currently play a gretsch maple 5x14. that's what i use when i play with my band. i love it. it sounds amazing. if you have the means, get one. i also have a pdp birch. it sounds decent. and i have a slingerland vintage 5x14. i put those wide snares on it. sounds really jazzy. i like it. by the way if you want to hear that gretsch, go to www.myspace.com/horsemenmusic

I have three snares but the best by far is my DW All Maple Collectors 10+6 14"x5" Snare Drum!

I can't describe how amazing this snare is.

Sounds absolutely awesome live, but I've always struggled to do it justice in the studio.

I've got a 14 x 5.5" Starclassic B/B on order in Blue Galaxy Fade, figured it was a good place to start as I just bought a full BB kit!

Seen a load of snares on here I'd love though!

Think I may go snare shopping soon as I'm going to have to wait til Feb/March for the Starclassic to arrive apparently :-(

I'm in love with my 8x14 Tama Artwood (Maple shell). LOADS of depth and tone but I keep the tuning pretty cranked so I'm getter better sensativity than I had expected. Jus got a 6.5x14 Starclassic Performer (Birch shell) and have been playing with the tuning on, in addition to a black nickel plated 4x12 steel soprano, 5.5x14 Starclassic Performer EFX and (believe it or not) a 5.5x14 steel Rockstar snare powdercoated in a satin black to warm up the tone a bit. That thing REALLY suprised me after having it powdercoated. Sounds GREAT!!
