those are pretty!

i'm useing a pearl brass free floating 14x 5.5 (i think)
and i was using a DW 12x 5 (again i think, i'm good at depths)
but then the band said i'm taking up to much space in the trailer so i had to scale down my whole kit, off went the DW (which rubs- it made a sweet aux, and when ya drop the snares it made a great timbale) i have more but i'll list later

one of the best things on my set and the best snare ive heard...

14x6 spaun with a keller 8 ply maple shell with 2 2.5" vents. 10 chrome lugs with black die cast hoops and a piano black lacquer on the shell. evans hd dry snare batter head with an evand hazy 300 reso and 20 strand puresound (i believe) wires.

Wow, I bet that's a loud snare! I'm gonna get a Spaun someday. I'm gonna start collecting! I was thinkin about getting a Spaun when I ended up getting the Pork Pie. I just liked the Pork a little better and the price was also better at the time. :D

for me, the price on this was perfect. i had originally wanted to get a custom snare from conawaydrums! but when i went to place my order i was informed that they werent taking any more business. i was highly disappoined and went to guitar center where i found this and it was only $350 usd, and since the specs were almost exactly what i wanted from conaway i tried it out, tuned it and bought it (im only 16 so this isnt something cheap for me). i havent once regretted buying this and even my guitarists notice a huge difference from my swingstar snare (and my guitarists dont notice when i change a cracked 14 inch crash into a 10" splash). this isnt a custom ordered snare but im still proud as hell to own a spaun.

Awesome man, keep gettin the good stuff while you are young! The pork was only $200 and I was really surprised at how good it sounds because I've never been too fond of acrylic.

There are so many snares out there though, as you get older you'll start finding different sounds that you like. It's all about exploring the many possibilities of drumming. That's what keeps it exciting!

anavrinIV - great snare you got there! I'd love to own a spawn myself!

Actually...the name of the finish is almost as corny as that...GMS calls it "Black Lightning" It's only about half a year old, so it'll be awhile before i'm looking to sell
