I use a 6.5x14 Gretsch Renown Maple Snare with die cast hoops and a 5x14 maple snare with triple flanged hoops that I built with a keller shell. I'll post pics soon. I used to have a Ludwig Acrolite and oh how I miss it.

I just bought a new 5.5"x14" Oak Custom snare by Yamaha. I tried a bunch of different snares before I settled on this on this one, it has a great snap to it and can be tuned either low or high without losing sensitivity. I can't wait to try it out on stage!

I proudly play with Tama (snare drums), PDP, Sabian, LP, Paiste, Vic Firth, Aquarian (bass and snare heads), and Remo (tom heads)brands! My biggest drummer influences are Mic Fleetwood, Nicko McBrain, and Mike Portnoy.

oh and btw, is one of the Tamas, a Black one with sort of a mineral look and like 5.5-6.5"x13"? or so? and it's an Artwood? because I think I have the same one and just so you know, they were limited edition for a VERY short time. Tama made like only a few and sold em.

I found a website that still has some of those 7x13 Limited Edition Tama Artwood Snares ... I'm thinking about getting one. I've been playing my 6.5x13 Tama Hand Hammered Stainless Steel Snare for about two years now and I've been wanting to invest in a 7x13 for quite awhile. I take it you two would recommend it? I mean, either way .. you cant argue with $160 for a quality Tama snare.

I don't know, funkymunkymusic.com has it listed a 7x13 and I thought Sam Ash did too when they were selling them. But you never know they may have just misprinted it. Ive seen a lot of websites say that DDRUM's bass drums for the Dominion series are 18x22 when they're most definitely 20x22. Right on though, I'll probably snatch one up when I get paid next.
