Here is my Tama Rockstar Custom 7 piece. I believe it was made in 97 but not positive. I have two sets of hi-hats on it, 13" Zildjians and 14" Zildjians. I'm not even sure when they were made, but let me specify, they have the stamps only, no laser logo.

I'll be an asshole :D

Your tom placement.is.. less than sufficient for good power, looks, resonance and playability my friend. You might want to consider getting the tape and any other shit you have on the drums that muffles em and makes em sound like your hitting bongy flabby plastic because pinstripes have more than sufficient muffling for toms and whatnot.

Try fixing your angles to what your more favorite drummers drumsets look like (unless u listen to emo screamo shit). Notice how their toms are flatter? More attack, more power, more speed and fluidity around the kit and better looking are the reasons for this.

I don't get why people hate muffling. I play on ec2 and still find the need to put moon gels on them. I hate that timbale tom sound so many of you seem to love. It's all opinion.

To the ts keep the tape on if you like the sound. And you set is not the worst set up set on hear, there have been worse and as long as your playing comfortably keep em' that way. I see nothing that could hurt playing by setting them up that way.

bro, dont listen to the few assholes on here, especialy ones that accept that their and ass and take pride in it.
but no worries dude, weve all be guilty one time or another of the old tape muffeling method.
it works well, plus if you like the sound your getting out of em then keep the tape. hell add more if needed!

Not a bad setup. I would probably set it up different but If it's what you like, enjoy. With the power toms, I assume you play mainly rock. How many pairs of Buddy Rich sticks do you go through. I'm mainly an R&B, drummer but, I played with a rock band in NYC and shredded them on the first song.
