I have Mapex Saturn series kit and had no issues with it. Converted the 16x13 tom to a floor tom. I also have a BP walnut snare and had no issues.
Mapex, Istanbul Agop, Attack, Vater/O4D.
I want an endorsement :)

My friend had a Black Panther Limited Edition Vavona Burl 14" snare and it's shell resembled an egg rather than a circle (it wasn't round) so there's mapex for you.

All their stuff has great quality. Obviously the lower lines aren't as good as the better stuff, but all of Mapex's stuff is solid.
