I've been playing for about 8 years, the first two years weren't very serious. And finally about 8 months ago I started taking lessons which have helped me tremendously.

only this past March. But have been progressing very fast. I got rid of my cable, phone, and internet so I would have no distractions and (really because I am poor). Just Work and go home to practice. I have been playing guitar for 15 years. But if I put as much time practicing the guitar as much as I practice the drums now then I would be Eric Clapton. Can't stop playin lovin it way to much.

thanks... but I am 39 now, so I have been playing since I was 4. My dad bought me a Silver Sparkle Ludwig kit to keep me from destroying trashcans, cooking and planter pots. My set had the cymbal mount on the bass drum. The bassdrum is now a coffee table in my studio. One day I will post some pics of it here.

My advice would be to keep practicing.. rudiments.. practice.. rudiments.. practice and oh yeah the most important thing... dream alot. Everything is acheivable.

When I was around 13 my avergage practice time was anywhere from 4 to 6 hours per day, 7 days a week.

Well I been playing for 26 years since age of 10/11. I was given a drum when I was a baby by my grandparents so that it would piss off my parents, so in total I'd say 26 years and 30 seconds
