In the rock band I play with currently I need a wide diversity of sounds. Of course I've used this same set up playing R&B and Hip hop.

From left I use an
8" Custom A splash
14" Dark K Custom Hats
14" Custom A Crash
12" Custom A Splash
16" Custom A Crash
22" Custom A Ping Ride
18" Dark K Custom Crash
18" Dark K Custom China

I've found if I need that heavy crash I can crash my 22" ping and get a nice wash out of it.

The Custom K gives me what I need to ride the crash in a heavy song without being so loud that no one on stage can hear themselves. It also gives me a pretty crash and a nice cymbal to end songs on, as well as being great for swells.

the 14 and 16 are quick crashers that I can use in doubles that are there and gone. The 16" stays long enough to use in situations when I want one crash to exclaim the end or begining of a session.

The splashes are nice for DMB songs and for color.

And the Dark K Custom China is just such a great cymbal. I just love it for effects.

My set-up is almost the same on both side's of my drum kit

I have 4 crashes, 2 17" and two 18"
The 18" are in front of me, the 17" next to me
I also have 2 HiHats, one can be played also with the foot, the other one is an X-hat

I only have one ride and one china, and one splash, But I want to add another one, right above the high Tom

here you can see my set-up
The pic below are made with my mobile phone...
Good ones are on the way!

Look here for a blueprint program. It's probably what Chris is using.
Mapex, Istanbul Agop, Attack, Vater/O4D.
I want an endorsement :)
