If my singer jumped up on my kick drum i'd stop playing, rip him down and beat him right there on stage. Until he buys a $4500 mic and lets me start jumping on it he knows to stay off my kit.

Here's one, how about when the guitarist hits your cymbals with his guitar?

I think there are Guitar and Singer forums where they come up with these anti-drummer ideas.

But karma is a wonderful thing, how many times has your guitar player scratched his guitar on one of your stands? LOL

About 15 years ago, I was playing in a band where our guitarist loved to jump up on my twin kick drums and pose. I constantly told him that he needed to seriously knock it off and quit standing on my drums. He wouldn't do it. Then, one day at practice, he brought in his brand-new Jackson Soloist guitar. After jamming and rehearsing for about 2 hours, he gently laid it on the floor and went to take a leak...

I got up, walked over, looked down, glanced at my bandmates, and stomped on the neck really hard. It snapped like a matchstick.

He came back and his jaw hit the floor. I calmly sat back down, looked at him, and said "I told you. Don't stand on my f*cking drums.".

He never did it again.

(Disclaimer: I do NOT advocate doing this, since more than likely it will get your ass whipped in a fight. I got away with it somehow, but I do have respect for all musical instruments, and would never do it again.)

OMG I'd kill if someone did that to my drums. There would probably be a serious quarrel about it. I hate it when someone disrespects my instrument.

I've never experienced this problem. If I was to, it would only happen the once.

ive had the singer bash his mic off my sabians i wasnt too happy i said if you gotta do it do it on the cheap cymbals. i dont mind singers putting there foot on the bass drums but jumping on them is a different matter. if they break it they pay for it.

i remember a few years ago somebody TRIED to do it to my drums. It was during a rest in the song so I wasn't playing anything. The bass player got up on my kick to jump off with the band came back in to the song. I quickly got up and pushed him off and fell on his face. It was funny but he, nor anybody else that was there, ever tried to stand on my drums again.

We gotta start thinking of things we can do to our guitarists and singers in the lines of someone standing on the kick.

a few ideas, for our guitarist, loosen the straplocks so they're guitars fall off or even better, if they go for a guitar swing it goes soaring off stage. and for singers, if they have there own mic, get a hold of it and rip the gound wite off it. chances are, when they put there lips on it if they are touching a metal mic stand their gonna get quite a lovely shock.

ok, someone else share their ideas.

If any one were to stand on my bass drum (let alone put a foot on it) , I would make their instrument a permanent fixture in their ass.

Thankfully i've never had to worry about this. But if someone were to get this stupid idea, i'd just turn them into another drum to hit. I can't imagine they'd try it again after being hit in the back of the head by a drumstick a few times.
