What do you think about them? Are they really that much better than normal snares? Are they worth the price?
dim my eyes if they should compromise

IMHO the highest model of Pearl snares will do the same job for less money

I use Pure Sound exclusively on all my snare drums. They really do sound better.

I built a 10x14 snare drum (yes, 10" deep) and the only snares that worked were the 30 strand PureSounds.

They're really good but too expensive for my taste

the Blaster snares are amazing for rockand metal, thats the only ones i use
