HELP tuning my snare

i have a 20 year old ludwig stainless steel 5 1/2 x 14 snare and i have a evans genera g1 coated for the batter and the evans 300 hazy for the bottom head... how do i make it sound more poppy... im not really good at tuning... thanks, tj

BTW: Are you sure your Ludwig snare is stainless? I'd be willing to bet you've got a Supraphonic, which would make it either chrome plated brass or chrome-plated alloy. I've got a 1968 Supraphonic that I'll never part with. Truly magical snare drums.

im pretty sure its stainless... thats what my dad says b/c he bougt it.. but its 20 years ago. so im not sure
