what is the best way to put an image on a front bass head, how does it affect the sound? thanks!

You can paint, airbrush, use vinyl stickers, or you can have a company make a custom head for you. It all depends on your budget.

Not as much as you would think. I have removable vinyl logos on my kit and they sound great.

You will not notice at all. Look at all these bass drum heads that have logo's like Ludwig and Tama on them.
