short hi-hat shaft

i know this is a dumb question since ive been playing drums for over 2 years, but where do some drummers get those short hi hat shafts? like these shafts here

make sure you REALLY like your hi-hat placement
and cut it with a hacksaw
then file down the edges

that's what i did
and a lot of other people i know of
drums - pacific LX
cymbals - saluda black mist, voodoo
pedals - axis, iron cobra
gear - DW, rock n' sock
sticks - vic firth

^^^Yep. DW also makes a short shaft, but I'm pretty sure it only fits DW stands...my encyclopedia of product knowledge seems to have eaten that page. :D

those shafts might not necessarily be short, those people might just sit higher and and naturally have the hi hat up higher, but iv'e found also that different companies have different hi hat sizes just because there is no univerally accepted height.
