Anyone know why the butt end of vater sticks are flat??

Maybe its a result of how they actually do shape it?

Yes, vater is a great company. I only have one problem with them, which is how the mold the nylon tips on. I forget how Vic Firth does it but they do it right.

I think they cut the butt end of each stick as to using the lathe cutter rounding it off the machine. If you were to dip them in my liquid grip, the cut off end is gone. You end up with a nice gripped drumstick and the butt end is a little more rounded.
