hey does anybody know anything about these cymbals, im looking for something that would sound great in a hardcore southern rock band, and i was wondering if these were good cymbals, i recently bought zildjian zbt series since they were kinda cheap but i cracked the 16"crash within about a year and was looking at these. any info thanks :?:

hey dude yeah ive got a 16" and 18" AAX stage crashes both of them are decent. the 18" is perfect for hard rock music. the 16" is alright but isnt bright enough for me. id mix in a 16" vault crash instead. sure sound check your cymbals at sabian.com and give them all a go.

good luck.

the drummer for my harcore band (FFR) swears by AAX sabians. they've got a little more meat, so their potential to take abuse is great. they really cut through the mix, but if your guitarists stay in standard tuning and use fenders (or anything twangy), you might be competing with their frequency range. chances are they drop-tune and go for the beefy distortion, in which case no worries on your part. have you been to sabian's site? they let you do side by side sound clip comparisons. it is pretty helpful, but nothing works better than going to the store and beating the crap out of cymbals you aren't obligated to buy. :D

oh, by the way, he uses a pearl session custom (6ply maple) set too.
