The Wild struck me as pretty "aquired" taste when i tried it out, its alot darker than most Paistes, but still keeps the classic Paiste brightness and shimmer. Its probably the heaviest sounding crash they've got outside the rudes and just, as you say, explodes right through.

Personally, my fave has to go to the 18" Signature Power Crash. Its pretty much my definitive of what i want a crash to sound like, cuts stupidly well, can go beautifully down to a silvery crash ride or took all the way to 11 when you need it, i love it. Alot.
I'm still really tempted to get a Wild though, cant decide whether to go for a 19" 2002 Rock Crash(as my 19" Dimensions Power has cracked, well had a big hole punched through it by my x-hat arm) or to have a bit of a sound change and go for the Wild. I would go for both, but theres just no feckin room around the kit anymore.

I love my Paiste's. The newer 2002's dont strike my fancy because I love a plainer type cymbal, even china cymbals are too differnt for me.

I stick with my paiste medium crashes, but my Giant Beats are my first choice, as I own a set of both.

You have to hear for yourself what's best for you. I'm closing this topic, because it won't do you anygood if you don't make a soundcheck yourself.
Mapex, Istanbul Agop, Attack, Vater/O4D.
