I've been wanting to use a sizzle ride for a latin jazz group i play with. I could have used a ball chain attached to the felt but i didnt feel like having that thing bouncing around during a gig. I knew for sure that i was not gonna drill holes into my 20" K custom Dark. Recently i saw a video by Bob Gatzen. He had the idea of letting one cym rest on another. I have to admit i was skeptical at first but after some testing i found that this is a very useful trick. I lowered a 16" A fast crash so its touching the ride just enough to get some sizzle action.
