Zildjian 9.5" Zil-Bel

Postby audiotech » Mon Dec 29, 2008 2:49 pm

This was a nice unexpected gift from my girlfriend along with some Zildjian brushes and an Evans magnetic drum key. Talk about ringggggg.

It found its home right between my two floor toms on the bubinga kit.

love the way it looks as well...brilliant zildjians are a nice site, hence why i have a full line of a customs and z customs (although soon to be saluda brilliants) i however dont like how far the hihat is away from your snare. But to each their own obviously. Nice stuff man!
i've been too chicken to do two rides like that, however it is something i wanna do. But i have three rack toms, which would only be in place of your amplifier, or whatever you have in there, so i should be able to do it.

The reason I have my high hats that distance is that I play with a traditional grip and when I play the 10" tom, the butt of my stick would hit the hats if they were any closer.

The same goes for my Yamaha kit when I play the 8" tom. I have to move my high hats back a bit. Both photos look a bit exagerated, the hats are very easy to reach and play.

Totaly, i invert mine to get a bit more attack in busy breakdown patterns. In metal music, you really cant tell that it rings forever.

And Audiotech....dude, nice kits. You must be single, my wife would kill me if i had 2 setups like that, lol.

I see this thread made it back from the past. Actually I receive some kind of drum related present from her each Christmas. This past year was a Sabian Hand Hammered 10" splash. No, I'm not married but I've been with my present girlfriend for about 30 years. Since she's a very accomplished drummer/percussionist, sometimes I think she only stays with me because of my drums, lol.

I edited the second picture of my initial thread to now show my 8" x 7" Bubinga rack tom on my Tama kit. Now that kit is complete. I'll also include a picture of my Gretsch Renown set that I got about a year ago. They're now wearing Sabian HHX Evolutions with my second ride being a Sabian Hand Hammered Raw Bell Dry ride. They really sound beautiful. I configure all my kits basically the same way, that way I can play them with my eyes closed. :D

haha WTF!! haha you have a different cymbal set up for all three kits!! you bastard!! hah all the same set up with just different equipment, very nice! So do you just collect or do you have 3 different settings you play in that ya need 3 complete different set ups? You need to combine all 3 and make a triangle of drums around yourself!!
