Hmmmm for you, a Mike Portnoy 9" Max Splash. That's a bit pricey though so I'd say maybe an 8" or 10" AAX splash

if you need help with cymbals ever, PM me, I send a lot of my free time studying cymblas and stuff

http://sabian.com/EN/products/index.cfm

http://zildjian.com/EN-US/products/default.ad2?from=cym

look up some sound files,
write down the ones you like
go to your closest music/drum store
take one of the sticks you usually play with

ask if they have them in stock
set them up
and test them out
have the drum tech hit them
as you listen to them different distances away
pick out the one that sounds best to you dude

we can't tell you witch splash is best for YOU

p.s. if you to PM anyone about cymbals
PM rufus he's a cymbal master

I think he'd be better off going and trying every splash out without hearing sound files. I've bought cymbals online because of the sound files and they did not sound like the sound file when I got them.

Or, you could just make everyone who's popular on this forum happy and buy a Saluda!

i suggested he listen to sound files to get a grip on what he was looking for,
saludas are great cymbals, and they're worth looking into.

Yeah I know what you mean. The internet and text messages are bad places for that stuff.

I always end up in a big pissing match with someone over it 8)

haha
splashes you obviously want something splashy, quick, loud..
dark or bright is up to you
i like dark cymbals, but a lot of people like bright cymbals

hats you want quick chick with the foot pedal, nice stick definition, crisp when closed..
wash when open, again dark or bright is up to you
