Hey DML guys! I know that there is the same post before but I just feel like making a new one... ... Anyways, Zildjian haven't only released the pitch black series but they also released 2 other cymbals which is the A Custom ReZo crash and K custom Dry Complex Ride II... Here's a link to it...

pitch black - kinda lame IMHO

rezo's - the soundfiles don't sound bad, but have yet to hear them in person

KCDCR2 - I have to play a few of these to really determine how I feel. So far, based on conversations with people's opinions I trust, they aren't anything spectacular. Of course, considering they are based on Bill Stewart's input, and that guy is just super sick with such an amazing sense of touch that he can make nearly any cymbal sound great, these pies are only going to appeal to a very specific consumer looking for a VERY specific sound. The sound files on Z's website are performed by someone who doesn't get a great sound from these cymbals.

i've played the pitch black in person and they are harsh sounding cymbals. It's their answer to Paiste's Joey J Alpha series (but these paistes sound better IMHO) The rezo's however are incredible sounding crashes and i will be converting all my A Customs to the A Custom ReZo's after the new year.

I hate the pitch black too. You guys should try the china, it doesn't even sound like one! The rezo are very nice sounding crashes, I hope I'll be getting one once i have the cash...

Pitch Black just look like a rip off Paiste...

ReZo's look good, they seem like quality A Custom cymbals.

The Dry Complex looks nice, and slightly original, its not often you get a 24" ride from a jazz/groove-orientated series.
