DW Super Solid snares

Postby mmck1516 » Tue Oct 20, 2009 8:16 am

Giving this beast some serious consideration. Anyone here heard them or own one? Should I expect a big difference in sound between the 1/2" and 3/4" shell? Obviously, the 3/4 would be higher pitched, correct?

Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Higher pitched with less resonance. What are they running?

In the $800-900 range, which is my biggest hesitation. But, I have a DW Edge that I would sell if I did end up pulling the trigger.

I've gotta hear this drum, though, before I do ANYTHING. But I have read lots of positive feedback on it.

If you're interested, I can build a solid shell snare for you in the $600 - $700 range.
