I seen drums kinda simillar to that

North drums I believe they were called

very strange. I dont think I'd want that sitting between my legs. looks akward.

interesting. my big question would be regarding snare response. not sure you'd get much given the distance between top and bottom head, not to mention the fact that the heads aren't parallel. I think those were originally marching snare drums.
