How many of you use piccolo snares as your primary snare?

Tama, Pearl, Yamaha, Premier, Mapex etc.

Just curious, how many of you use piccolos as your main snare or do you use it as a side snare or not at all?

after my 14x7 MM snare comes i'm going to use that as my main and then the 12x5 pork pie i have as my main

right now i use a 14x6.5 snare as my main and my 12x5 as the side

piccolos are cool if that's the sound you need,
but i wouldn't use one as a main...

I really really want a picolo to use as my main. I have a 14 x 6.5 Tama Starclassic maple snare. It sounds good but deep down i know i want something else and a picollo is WHAT I WANT!

14x3 would be great. Made of steel, brass or other metal. I love how sensitive they are and the tight sound you get out of em. My snare i feel is just too deep to give me the sound i want

I'm going to be building a 4x14 snare that I may use as a primary. Not quite piccolo, then again, I don't really know the line between piccolo and normal snare.

I use them in my drum n' bass programming. Well, samples of them :)

Both my snares are 14x6, they work fine for me. I actually want one that's a little deeper, and have been looking at the Yamaha nouveau copper snare in 14x6.5.

I have used a piccolo as a main in a ska band. It's awesome for a crack with no depth, ironically this is why I don't use it anymore as a main.

Now I crank my 14x6.5 pearl free floater and get a louder crack that projects a lot more.
