Looks really nice. I'm thinking about ordering one when I get money.

Did you happen to get it off eBay?

Yep I stole this one off ebay.

I got a quote from PJ on my own design, but this one was to cheap to let go.

Come on now you know a gentleman nevers asks, and a lady never tells.

I got a for a bill fifty.

I thought it was a fair price for a drum I've never played from a Company I've only heard good things about.

I hope to have a second MM snare soon tho.

That's a steal. I saw that in the ebay ad at the top of the page earlier today.

Yes, Dana built that snare.

Lovely. Seriously, why the big holes? Does that trade Tone with Volume? I've seen some other Snare like that and always wondered. Could I take a big Drill to any Wood snare to get a similar result?
You can own the greatest drum ever made, but it won't change how well you can play it!

I know the holes are for volume, but i'm unsure of the affect it has on the tone.

I remember Premier brought out a limited edition Snare in the early 90's called the "Project 1". It had drilled vent's that looked very similar. This was the first time I had seen a Snare like it. Now there quite common. I'm intrigued, is the drum still sensitive when you play it really softly, or is it designed for all out thundering Back beat punishment?

I know someone with a Project 1, I think. Is it the one with the hollow inner section that's vented? Looks like it's about 30 ply but it's actually a chamber inside the shell

It gives the snare a very dry, loud sound. They're usually done on 20 ply snares or thicker since they're dry to begin with so it doesn't change the sound much, it just makes them louder.
