At DRT I took delivery of my beautiful MM snare, the snare that NightCrawler Steve actually picked as his in the snare drum olympics because it sounded nicer than his did ;-)

It's Maple, 13 inches by 7. The finish is Emerald green and the grain obviously still shows. I wanted something different to the rest of my snares looks wise as well as sound, so chose black for the rims and lugs. Trick throw, Puresound wires and Attack heads.

I wanted it primarily for a more funky sound, big and fat with a really nice overall tone. It doesn't disapoint. I took it to practice with my main band and although that's not where I'd usually use it, it cut through the guitars and electronics with no problem at all. They also loved the sound.

PJ was fantastic to work with, kept me updated and was really helpful when it came to choosing what I wanted. If you want a new snare and are thinking custom, speak to PJ, seriously!

Awwwww....Drum Porn! This particular drum sounded awesome, straight out the case, when PJ delivered it to Rob. I still wish it had been forgotten in my trunk.

I've seen the pics on PJ's myspace page for a while now. I didn't realize it was yours. VERY nice snare. The tube lugs look great.

Thanks guys! PJ was the mastermind, I just told him what I was after and he turned out one of the nicest snares I've seen. And she sounds great, as I said!

Shame I didn't really get to play her at DRT! Maybe next year...
