OK i've got a question. I've heard a lot of good things from DML members about the acrolite snare. I've searched around musican's friend and the like, and haven't been able to come up with any answers as to how much one would cost, where to buy etc. I'm just wondering if anyone could give me a bit more of a detailed description of it and how much it would cost?

Thanks in advance

^^ Exactly.

I got my Acrolite (70's) on eBay for around $100. I've seen 'em even go for $60.

We're talking about Acrolites, so if it's in good shape.... Yeah...

GC has them listed as Ludwig Aluminum Snare Drum for $270.00 - $289.99. The older ones are grey.

It has not become legendary because it sucks, quite the contrary. You can find em usually around $100.00. Buy this drum!

If I was stranded on a desert island and could only have ONE snare drum, for the rest of my life, the drum I would have would be an acrolite from the 60's or 70's.

No doubt about it.

It sounds real good. I still need to experiment with tuning and getting used to it.
I'll let you know then.
