I need to replace the snare wires on my acro. I can't seem to find a clear cut replacement for it. Does anyone know if there is a specific model from Ludwig? Has anyone used a replacement that sounds great?

Snare wires aren't specific for a brand/model. Any snare strainer will work.

I put a Gibraltar 20 strand on my Acro, they work fine.

Not true. Pearl floaters have an extended set of snares.

Your drum does have just standard 14" snares. If you got the money, buy a couple different kinds and see which you like best. The most important thing with snares, is getting
them on the drum straight.

Puresound snare wires come in various sizes and models for modern or vintage snares

The stock wires for Acros were like 12-16 strand Snappys. I use 16-strand Snappys on mine and they sound great, perhaps the best and they are cheap. Lots of more expensive snare wires are too dry or dark for the Acro.
