Try www.jamminsam.com His wraps are very competitively priced and come precut with double sided tape.

So do you plan to play the kit once you're done, or sell it?

xdoseonex wrote:I bought a tama granstar kit for $75 yesterday. its in damn good condition for how old it is. but the wraps were an ugly yellow color, coming off and a bit scratched. So i started taking them off. Im' gonna re-wrap it. i'm thinkin rockenwraps. How much does it cost to wrap a standard 12,13,16,22 set (no snare)? how easy is the process? does rockenwraps send samples? any help would be much appreciated,

I rewrapped a Granstar II tom. There will be a lap joint in the shell where there is a bevel in the shell where the lower lap of the finish fits into the shell. This is so that when the drums are assembled with heads, that the outer lap doesn't interfere with the heads' fit on the drum. You will also likely encounter Tama spun Aluminum vent hole grommets. I don't advise replacing them with the Tama part as you can probably find the DW-style at Explorer's Percussion in Kansas City and they are far easier to install.

Good Luck!

Well as you can see in the pic I did encounter some pain in the ass grommets. I scratched the flawless interior of the shells a bit trying to get them out. but overall i did a good job and everything remains in good condition. '
My original plan was to stain it. but because of the groove where the plies meet, I decided to wrap it. I'm getting new vent hole from the company I'm getting the wraps from, cazdude.com I'm at work right now, when I get home I'll post pics of the wrap I chose

I'v recieved my wraps and finished 3 of my drums. I didnt like the way the "skull pile" wrap looked on the sparkle, so i went with "skull stripe". I'm still waiting on some rims .mounts, and i have to get some more black spray paint for the hoops and the spurs from the original owner of the set. I gotta say tho i'm really diggin them. A little cheesy. but i love it.

Heres the pics so far.
