awesome. I'd say you should charge him the cost of the materials. you have to look at it more like he funding your research at this point than buying something from you.

The closest Ive come to anything "custom' is laying a sunlite crash on the ground and whacking it til my arm got tired. good job by the way...

i love attempting to make cymbals better, at the moment i'm trying to make my ride better (im getting advice from Jamie at saluda) and when im at a friends house i'm trying to turn his old crash into a china, fun on a bun :D

^ I've tried that with a friend. The crash was so horrible it didn't even have logos.

That's still amazing, I can't even bend wood without it cracking lol, I'll let the pro's do it :D

he orders in the shells, as a lot of company's/private builders do. this isnt an attack on anyone but personally i see drum companies that dont make their own shells, or cut their bearing edges, or do drilling more as assemblers and decorators than "makers". Not taking away from the skill of making them look good because i sure couldnt do that. thats just my opinion anyway.

So Bear designs them with pretty colours and stuff? thats cool. Where do you order the shells from, because I may give it a go :D
Also, seeing as you would know this stuff, what is better ply or the solid bent wood?
