pull your throne alittle closer to the kick/rack-toms.... really, just bring your whole body closer to the kit... In watching this video, I'm watching you reach and bend foward in order to effectively play anything other than your snare and hats.... you shouldn't have to do that. And this technique you've developed will eventually result in back problems....just trying to help..
Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed your need to improvise and write in your own fills.
On the subject of playing to a DJ enhanced track..... go for it!!! I t's better than playing to a metrenome...kno what I mean?? As a matter of fact... pick a dance/techno track that you favor and write in your own drum track for it while playing.... This will stretch your imagination and allow you to practice keeping a solid pulse.
Play hard!

perhaps she likes to sit that far away from the kit. not everyone lets to rest there balls on the snare ( well not balls in this case)

Well, it's either that, or rest my snare on my balls :D

And about my sticks... I think they slipped away a bit in this clip.

Do you people have any clips?

Good video. You're a better player than the LP drummer is. not trying to be mean, but he's just not real solid and doesn't much play in the pocket. I think they do a tone of post-production work on his drums.

There's nothing wrong with your grip really. As the other guy said, if it works for you, it works! I also prefer to have my hands far back on the sticks. If I were playing like corp snare or something then I choke up, but otherwise I prefer to play with a combination of a French and German grip and choke way back on the sticks. As kinda shown below...

What a beautiful girl ;)
And U play well on Your drums. The thing I don't like is how You hold Your sticks, but everything is already said about it.

I've pulled it closer today, kind of because I was forced to because I needed to have space for a piano I bought.
But I think you're right about my need to bend over a bit for the toms and crashes. I hope my new positioning (Don't know a better word) will work a little better. Thanks for the comment and watching!

I can't imagine I'm better than the LP drummer, I thought bandmembers of such populair bands would play the drums all the time. But I don't really know LP that good, I just like some of there songs.

About the way I hold my sticks, I never noticed before that I've a different way of holding my sticks than other people. Maybe it's because I've the tiniest sticks I could find, holding the stick higher would make it harder for me to slap hard enough I think.

I guess I've developed some weird techniques, maybe I should have payed more attention during my lessons. :P

Your video is really cool! I want to play the base like you do one day. How long did it take for you to do that, the double base thing? You remind me of the lead singer of Muse, but you're prettier though.

@ Albi Poland: Thanks for the comment!
