My suggestion would be to get your hands on some DAW software (samplitude, cubase, ableton etc..) Rip the audio from your video, put it into the DAW and use the onboard mixer/compressors to get what you want.

Once you figure it out the first time you'll be able to do it for all audio files for the rest of your life. It's worth the effort :D

Most likely its still not going to sound good because the bass response on that Sony's mic is probably not real good. Probably will make it just sound a little more muddy. But cutting the highs a little bit might help a little with the cymbals, i know everytime i have filmed myself playing with my Sony Handycam the highs are way overbearing and it makes cymbals drown everything out. I use Adobe Audition and i like it a lot, if ya dont want to pay for one rip it illegally, limewire!

I know we already discussed this, but there was no bass on the video because you tried watching it on the camera and didn't bother uploading it to the computer

its not that i didn't bother, its that i couldn't upload it to my computer. the computer didn't even recognize the driver for the handy cam.

probably once i get the video up ill put it into microsoft video editor.

i should have a couple of covers up by this weekend at the latest. keep your eyes peeled

If you are using a DVI camera ya gotta have a DVI to firewire cable in order to load up that video. You can also download the driver off of Sony's website. I actually had to install a firewire pci port into my computer in order to upload my videos off of my Sony.
