Ive been playin drums for only a year now, dont know too much about em. i play in a prog rock band right now but i really love playin grooves. i would say john bohnam, david garibaldi, and bernard purdie are my biggest influences and kind of the style im goin for. i do instrumentals and lots of hip-hop beats. so i need somethin that can fit those styles but can still kinda do the rock thing. been lookin at pearl MLX kits, what do you guys think?

There's really no brand of drums that fit a certain style of music. If you're interested in the Pearl MLX, go for it.

Buy whatever you like. Go to any music market/store and try all the drums and cymbals. I'm sure you will find something that will be suiting your needs. 8)
